I was just wondering, do beetleweight robots need to have failsafe in them?

when building a co2 flipper, what parts would I need to use to build a pneumatic flipper?

Yes. All combat robots across all weight classes should failsafe.

The fail-safe is in the receiver. All Robots must fail-safe on all channels.

Caution: Fail-safe means that if the receiver looses signal it should return to preset positions which are safe. ie: no drive and weapons off. Some receivers do not do this on the throttle channel. Orange R620's are a cheap receiver that are known to failsafe, even if the set up process is a little odd.
