Nice! And started on rocky, cut the disk, it's 3mm steel, 20cm diamiter (ish) weight 650...something grams, so need lighting.

I desided that all your robots are to well machined, so I'm lowering the standard and making mine out of scraps of rusty old metal, With some meccano here and there. Frame neally done as well, but jot photo worthy for the moment.

Test video of RPM with Sloth and 180.
RPM only has a single bolt as a tooth at the moment as it isnt finished.

Really really awesome! Everyone's pictures and videos make me want to get building.

Was Sloth made as a test target, by any chance? I get the feeling it will live a hard life!

Daaamn, these vids/pics make my servo lifter seem quite tame by comparison. Don't worry Alex, my beetles will be lowering the standard too

Got Flatulence running today and it seems alright, but the current drive ESCs don't actually offer any proportional control which makes driving impossible. There's only 166g left to finish off armour etc as well so I might swap out the 6V Nicad pack and ESCs for an 11.1V lipo and Botbitz controllers. But it's running at least, so won't be far off completion:

Thats cool Jamie. Any idea what the lifter can lift? Sloth has lifted 1.8kg so far. Not tested anything heavier.

Im building an electric lifter for combat and a drum spinner for combat aswell they wont be engineered like my FBS. The Gimps mainly for demos and stuff. It will go in a few fights but ill mainly be using my drum or electric lifter.

Cheers Alex, although it looks a bit shoddy to me but I'm probably just being over-critical.

Haven't tried to lift too much yet Tom. The servo has 20kg/cm torque and can easily right itself so I'd say a couple of kilos at least. Will try lifting a few different things once I've got the new bits for it.

Dave, how thick is the steel on sloth?

Managed a quick test video of Flatulence today. Took out the crap ESCs and put the Botbitz ones in:

Impressive servo you've got on that!

So in BW spinners alone, we currently have a:

                                Vertical Disk
                                Horizontal Disk
                                Horizontal Under Cutting Bar
                                FBS
                                And a Drum spinner.

Who's making a vertical bar spinner?

I may look into putting a solenoid in a BW. Did some research into trying it out on a FW, but found it wouldn't be very effectve and gave little advantages. Kudos to the Nipper guys for trying though.
I'm just thinking it'll scale down to BW size better.
