  • Easy noob question, help?

    Hi! New member here!

I'm trying to build my first robot, but I cannot see any physical way to get the batteries into the circuit with the receiver and servos! The battery section on the receiver has 3 pins, so I need something they fit into (like on the servos) but I do not know what these are called, or how to attach one to my batteries.

    Any help? xD
    Cheers!

    For those wondering:

    I have these batteries:

    This receiver:

    And these servos:

You are best going to http://robotwars101.org/forum/ for Antweight information. While their is a small amount of ant builders here, most of them congregate over on robotwars101.
As for your question... your receiver is will be powered by your ESC's, usually with a built in BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit). But you may want to review your components as I know most Ants no longer use servos.

Hi, u can get batteries with a receiver servo style plug on or if using a separate speed controller the data cable from the speedo to the receiver will provide it with power. There are two other bits of info you should know. The first is join the ant forum mentioned above and they will explain everything. The second is that the same website sells a kit with the electrics prewired so you can literally just tie wrap the stuff into your own body n get fighting. Another thing is that a lad on here called rapidrory makes premade electrical setups for not much money. Any of these options are a good start.
