Brushless problem

I'm not sure if I'm being stupid but I cant get my brushless to work. Got it plugged up to the ESC with 2 3.7V nanotech batteries and nothing happens.
I did have it running at one point so all the parts HAVE worked together.

Are you sure there aren't any loose connections in your set up? with that amount of wiring and solder joints it could just be a duff connection.

the drive motors turn fine so if there is a wiring problem I guess it's after the ESC? I'll try again but I was pretty sure the connections between the ESC and motor were good...

Your joints look like you have just taped them together... you must solder them to have a good enough connection. There isn't enough surface area to get the amount of power the motor needs through surface contact.

Also check your batteries to see if they are charged, what their maximum output current is (Capacity x C Rating), and the minimum required voltage for your motor.

It could be a loose connection then again it couldn't but it's best to cover all the bases. Does anything smell like it's burnt out/shorted? are all of your leads plugged in the right way? sounds silly but at the featherweight champs this year i had an rc lead plugged in backwards so it's best to check.

*edit* Just noticed Alex's post and he's got a point, i presumed the wires were soldered but it does look like they're just taped in which case the connection might be broken.

Ah yes, I did tape them as I wasnt sure which way round the 3 wires would need to go. But I squeesed the connections together when trying the motor.

Tried soldering the wires and still no joy :/

Jiggling the wires and switching the rc cable round didn't help either... Any suggestions?

What exactly is it doing? Is it rotating at all? Does it make a buzzing/noise when it turns on, are there any lights on the esc that light up?
Are you sure the battery is fully charged, maybe the esc has a low voltage drop off? Are you sure the battery connectors are working properly?

No, there is nothing.

I will try charging the batteries again. The connections are fine as it manages to power the wheels...

Bit red faced but charging the batteries seemed to do the job :s I think it was a combination of that and the tape instead of solder.
