Servos and receivers compatability

Hi All

I'm looking to buy some bits from robotwars101 and wondered if all of the servo's are compatible with all of the receivers? If not is there a way of telling which are and which aren't?

I'm getting a DX5e transmitter which I'm seeing as a bit of an investment. So I'll have to look for a receiver and when I race RC Cars like any servo will plug into any receiver and just work. So if I buy a basic antweight kit from robotwars101 with the premodded servo's, I didn't want to get a kit with incompatible servos.

I was going to get the beginners kit with no radio so just wanted to check that when I add my own receiver it will run the servo's lol. Just after a bit more back ground info really if there's anything to watch out for.

Some servos have a small tab on the side that doesn't fit all receivers, however, a pair of cable clippers to the tab will solve that

The only thing I can suggest watching out for is which way round the receiver pins are. Most receivers (like 98% of them) have the signal pin at the top/inside and the negative pin at the bottom/outside. The FrSky receivers I use have this the other way round and while I've not blown anything up by plugging things in the wrong way round, it can happen with other makes of receiver as far as I'm aware.

Thankfully on the newer FrSky receiver models it has reverted to the conventional arrangement. But apart from that, the only other thing that you might have to do is what David mentions with the small plastic tabs, but that's easy enough.
