Armour

Hey,
basically i found some 1mm thick metal and with my infinite knowledge guess it was stainless steel. i was just wondering (to extend my infinite knowledge) would this be of any use as armour?

bit heavy, go for 1mm polycarbontate or 2mm hdpe

I use 1mm steel on rage and it's under weight
