    Hiya MAtthew,

http://www.robotwars101.org/phpBB/viewt ... 25&start=0 might be of use to you, that thread is a general discussion of the parts needed for a basic ant and their cost. Robot Wars 101 (Pete Collier's site) also do a basic kit in their shop, which includes everything you would need to produce a basic robot but it is slightly outdated as most antweights today use small geared motors rather than speed controllers and an increasing number use metal and polycarbonate armour rather than plasticard sheeting, so that's worth bearing in mind when thinking about how competitive you want your robot to be.

I'd also advise joining and browsing/asking questions on the RW101 forums rather than on here as those are more antweight-oriented, and there's no shortage of past topics to browse through where more or less the same question's been asked - http://www.robotwars101.org/phpBB/index.php is the link if that interests you.

Hope that helps, and good luck

I was just about to say that - you really do want to look on the robotwars101 forums as those tend to deal more with ant stuff, whereas on here we tend to build bigger bots (feathers/heavies).
