dont bother with the battle antz
the link on the second takes me to the robot marketplace home page, but i found that tamyia gearboxes are
    A: rubish
B: to heavy for an antweight

Re: buying a robot for £200

      i disagree

a battle ant is a super antweight (250g), the motors and gearbox will be too underpowered for a featherweight.

here's what i'd suggest you buy to build a featherweight for under 200

      2x 12v drill motors - £20
      2x electronize 15 amp esc's - £65
      1x vapextech 12v 3300mah - £20
      2x robochallenge 100mm wheels with nut insert - £15
hdpe - about £30 for a robots worth
removable link powerlight screws etc - £10
decent charger and power supply - £25

      total: £185

charger wise i'd suggest investing in a decent multi charger such as this turnigy one, it's not the greatest but it's cheap and it'll charge a 12v

      and power supply:

edit: you beat me to it harry, when i said i disagree it was to him not you.

Don't bother with a kit. Your bot will be crap. Go read the build threads as recommended and build your own from scratch.

Re: buying a robot for £200

Probably about 15cm long and 10 wide?

Can't stress enough what people are trying to get across to you though, if you are looking for a featherweight robot then the Battle Ant is not what you are looking for.

If you are very apprehensive about putting together a robot yourself then there will be featherweight robots coming up in the sale section at some point I am sure, either that or look into Harry's offer because then you will actually be able to compete properly with the robot whereas with a Battle Ant you will find that difficult.

they are very fast and have little grip. you know these are 250 gram robots right? featherweights are 13,600 grams!

DO YOU WANT A FEATHERWEIGHT OR A SUPER ANTWEIGHT?
