Finally got round to building up my own feather (Sorry its Lukes too!) picture on profile.
Its really a bit of a welding project for me as before I didnt have a clue how to do it. Spoke to a few people about how to weld and ended up more confused than I started so went off to B&Q and bought an arc welder.
Then i went off to site and the only metal I could find was some 8mm thick steel bar and some 2.5mm sheet.
As a result BOOM! is a steel box with 8mm steel sides and 2.5mm steel top and bottom. Anything that can be welded on is.
Yet to put the electrics in properly so dont really know how fast it is but its ending up at around 12kg. (Steel sides are 6kg by themselves).
Anyway after looking at the fully welded steel box around the outside and the fact I can jump up and down on it and it doesnt even flex, weve decided that our tactics have to be to land on peole. Any voulenteers for launching us in the direction of other feathers??
And by the way, I think we should all welcome Luke to the **** Ive just filed my finger! club. Think weve all done it and it hurts!!
Andy
Now I am able to weld, onto something more interesting...........
