Information
Stinger is a heavyweight that was built in 1999 by Kevin Scott from Lincolnshire. It competed in Robot Wars the UK Series from Series 3 up until Extreme series 2. Stinger's best series was Series 4 where it performed very roughly against robots including Bulldog Breed and Panic Attack on its way to the Grand-final where it was beaten by Chaos 2. After competing in a few live events around the country, Stinger was brought into retirement for a while but did go on display at the Robot Rumble events along with other Robot Wars veterans such as Cassius, Steel Avenger and Chaos 2. In early 2010, John Findlay of Roaming Robots bought Stinger off the team and resurrected it to running condition again for live events. Stinger's weapon is a long flailing arm with a big heavy spike on the end that slams down on top of other robots with the force of a bowling ball being dropped and can also act as a blade when the robot spins around.
