Spitfire is a Heavyweight robot that was originally built as an early version of Dantomkia by Mike Lambert from Chertsey, Surrey in 2001. It was built as a successor to the first version which failed to qualify for Series 4 of Robot Wars and fought many times in the live events including the Robot Rumble and the Dutch Robot Games. After Mike had built a new version of Dantomkia which qualified for Series 6, this version was repainted and renamed to Spitfire and was entered into Battlebots in the USA. Then at the time, Lambert teamed up with Gareth Dean the driver of Wolverine for the series. Spitfire did very well in Battlebots when it entered Season 5.0 beating 4 opponents including Vlad the Impaler 2 before losing out to Surgeon General. Spitfire is a very fast robot that can run at the speed of a spitfire in combat conditions and is best to avoid if you don't want to be flipped out the arena.
