Hive is the second heavyweight robot built by Gary Cairns from Scotland since he left with his prize money in Series 7 of Robot Wars with the winning Typhoon team. Hive was built in 2007 but only took part in the 2007 UK Championships where it fell in the group stages against Obsidian and Ripper. Hive was built as a rambot with a pair of lifting spikes used for shunting its opponents into oblivion.
