The competition had six seeded robots which were seeded in the place they finished the previous year in the 2004 UK Championships.

Competition Format
Just like the previous year, there was four qualifier rounds which were shows where the robots fought in one-on-one qualifier battles throughout the tour. The top 12 point scorers went through to the finals where they fought in a knockout competition to determine the 2005 UK Champion.
